Cheese Room X Tasting Room: Flowing Cheesecake and Serious Pasta in Lotte World Mall, Seoul
If you're doing the Lotte World Tower thing anyway — and honestly, most tourists end up there at some point — this is the one meal worth booking in advance. Cheese Room X Tasting Room (치즈룸 월드타워) sits on the 5th floor of Lotte World Mall, and it's the kind of place that looks like a lifestyle ad but actually delivers on the food.
What to Expect
Think Italian-leaning Western food with a Korean sensibility. Pasta, flatbreads, salads, and cheesecakes — but seasoned and composed with a precision that most mall restaurants skip entirely. The interior leans French Provençal: warm tones, deliberate lighting, the kind of space where people take pictures before eating. It's not subtle, but it works. One thing to know: this place gets busy, and the two-hour reservation window is real. They'll seat you, but they track the time.
Reservations go through Catch Table (Korea's main restaurant booking app). Download it before your trip, or ask your hotel concierge. Walk-ins exist, but the wait can be brutal on weekends.
What to Order
The flowing cheesecake is the signature for a reason. It's a Basque-style burnt cheesecake served warm, with a molten center that actually moves when you tilt the plate. Not gimmicky — just properly made. Get it. It's the dish people come back for.
The sun-dried mozzarella flatbread keeps coming up in reviews, and for good reason. The bread is thin, charred at the edges, and the mozzarella has enough salt and chew to make it feel intentional rather than filler. Solid starting point if you're ordering for two.
The kale salad sounds boring, but multiple people flag it specifically — which means the kitchen is doing something right with the dressing. Worth adding if you want something lighter to balance the cheese-heavy main event.
One note: don't fill up on appetizers. The cheesecake is dense and rich, and you'll want to actually finish it.
Atmosphere & Vibe
It's inside a mall, but you'd forget that once you're seated. The room feels considered — not loud, not overly romantic, but somewhere in between. Good for a date, good for a small group, fine for two friends who want something nicer than a food court but don't want full formality. The service is attentive without being hovering. Staff are used to international visitors; English communication is generally smooth.
That said: this is a Songpa District restaurant in a major shopping complex. It's polished. It's not a local hole-in-the-wall, and it doesn't pretend to be. The food is genuinely good, but you're also paying for the location and the experience.

What People Are Saying
"We loved the restaurant! We had to book a table in advance through Catch Table, and each reservation was for a two-hour stay at the restaurant. My wife and I found it very unusual to try Korean reincarnations* of Italian dishes in a French Provençal interior, but it was very tasty and comfortable. Don't be confused by the French atmosphere in an Italian restaurant; the culture of old Europe is very multifaceted. We were pleased with the service, the attentive, smiling, and very quick waiters. The menu is not very extensive, but it is quite sufficient. We have been to Italy many times, we love Italy, we have visited Italian restaurants in Germany, Singapore, Slovenia, Vietnam, and Turkey, so we know what Italian cuisine is like. On a five-point scale, I give the restaurant a maximum rating of 5 points and recommend it for a visit with friends or for a family outing. *I call the spiciness of familiar Italian dishes and the presence of Korean pickled vegetables on the table the Korean reincarnation of Italian cuisine."
"This place is located in Lotte World Mall. It is on 5th floor near the movie hall. I ordered sun dried mozzarella flat bread, kale salad and an original burnt cheesecake. The food was delectable. Specially the flatbread was super super yummy. And yes, these dishes are good for vegetarians. Do give it a try."
"This was a very nice place. Desserts were excellent! Very rich! Good selection! Staff was nice! The decor was really interesting! No wonder it took long lines to enter here. If you have a date, this is definitely a spot to take them to. Granted, they did forget our cheesecake, but it wasn't an issue to add it back into the order. Oh, and those giant marshmallow-looking things in a tin? Those are actually tightly-wrapped wet napkins."
