Good For
A Hong Kong-Style Chinese Dining Bar in Euljiro, Seoul — With No Sign on the Door
There's no sign outside. Just a heavy iron door on a quiet Euljiro backstreet. If you're not looking for Jullia (줄리아), you'll walk straight past it — which is exactly what makes finding it feel satisfying.
What to Expect
Jullia is a Hong Kong-style Chinese dining bar in Jung District, Seoul, and the interior hits you immediately. Red lighting, hanging lanterns, a mirror ball spinning overhead — it has the energy of a late-night Hong Kong film set, not a restaurant. Think In the Mood for Love meets a Cantonese roast meat shop. The music is loud enough to feel like a night out, not just dinner.
The menu centers on Chinese dishes — think bold, oily, fragrant flavors rather than the mild stir-fries you might know from back home. A few things on the menu are genuinely spicy, and here's the thing: there's no spice level indicator on the menu. If you're sensitive to heat, ask before ordering. The malatang-style dishes (anything with "mala" in the name) will burn. The roast meat and fried rice will not.
What to Order
Hong Kong BBQ Platter — roast chicken, char siu (Cantonese-style barbecue pork), and crispy pork belly, served together on one plate. This is the move. The char siu is lacquered and sweet, the crispy pork has proper crackling, and the roast chicken is juicy enough that you'll be pulling pieces apart with your hands by the end. Great for sharing.
Fried Rice — specifically the tomato and egg fried rice (tomato gyeran bokkeumbap). Multiple people independently recommend this. It sounds simple. It isn't basic. The wok char on it is real, and it's the kind of dish that saves the table if you've over-ordered spicy things.
Sweet and Sour Pork (kkwabaro) — the Korean-Chinese version of sweet and sour pork, crispy battered pork with a glossy sauce. A crowd-pleaser. Order it if you're with people who aren't sure what they want — it disappears fast.
If you want to drink, the beverage list is wide: beer, Chinese rice wine (baijiu-adjacent), wine, and sodas. The drinks flow quickly, and the service is genuinely attentive for a bar-style space.
Atmosphere & Vibe
This is a date spot and a group drinking spot simultaneously, which is a hard balance to pull off. Somehow it works. The tables seat four to six people comfortably, though there are only two larger tables — if you're coming in a group of five or more, note that those tables are right next to the entrance door, which is less ideal in winter. The chairs are functional, not comfortable. Nobody seems to mind.
There's a two-hour seating limit, which is worth knowing before you settle in for the night. On weekends, waits can stretch over an hour without a reservation. The vibe rewards staying the full two hours — it gets better as the night goes on.

What People Are Saying
"Decent Chinese diner ideal for a cold beer after a hard day at work. Overall, the place is pricey but the food is not really bad. They have wide variety of drink options including wines, Chinese rice wines, beer, sodas, etc. Individual menu’s bit expensive but the service is excellent and quick. Definitely going back soon."
"Most foods are very spicy but there is no sign of level of spiciness! We ordered Mara noodles, eggplants with shrimps and fried noodles. We coukd not enjoy the foods because all foods were spicy. Finally we ordered fried rice with egg and tomato to calm down our tongue. The taste of each food was fine. The chair was not comforble and the table was in front of door even if we reserved the seats. The tables for more than 4 people were only two table and in front of doors."
"Such great dinner! We had the chicken and fried rice, it was exactly what we expected, very delicious, quick and good service and very cool atmosphere with great music and lights. Highly recommended!"
